Toronto-based artist Beth Stuart presents a new large-scale mural — Reube (V. Stepanova and M. Vionnet) — on the underside of the Dundas Street East bridge, where it runs along the Lower Don Recreational Trail.

Evergreen has launched a major new commission in our public art program — a reproduction of Rita Letendre’s iconic mural Sunrise from 1971. The reproduction has been painted by artist Tannis Nielsen, and will be accompanied by a mural of Nielsen’s own, developed in response to Letendre’s work and her influence on Canadian art history, public art and Indigenous muralism.

In her outdoor photographic installation, Roots, Toronto-based artist Sandra Brewster explores the long history of Black presence in the urban wilderness. Developed during her tenure as Koerner Artist in Residence at Evergreen Brick Works, the photographs document the area’s plant life, greeting visitors as they explore the valley.
