City of Toronto Policy on Group Use of Park Space

Please note that the Weston Family Quarry Garden and Don Valley Brick Works Park (the park, trails and ponds behind Evergreen Brick Works) are maintained by the City of Toronto. Access to this natural area is carefully managed in order to protect the sensitive and valuable ecosystem.

If you are visiting as a group of 25 or more and would like to access the park trails on your own (i.e., outside of a tour or walk organized by Evergreen), you are required by the City of Toronto to book a gathering. Contact greentoronto@toronto.ca for more information or to request a permit.

FAQ

Are there any accessibility concerns with this tour?

This tour takes place on both paved and unpaved, even paths. There is an optional tour stop that includes climbing stairs, which can be eliminated by request. This tour is delivered in English.

Will we explore the park?

This tour will not take you through the park trails. This is because the park is not Evergreen property. For information about park etiquette, check out the city website.

Where will this tour take me?

This tour travels across the entire Evergreen Brick Works site, which we refer to as “the industrial pad”. If the space is available, the tour includes exclusive access to view the kilns.

Can I bring a group with me on this tour?

Yes! As long as the group is under 10 people due to limited capacity on public tours. Groups larger than this should check out our private tour offering.
