Toronto, ON – April 7, 2025 – While every month is Earth Month at Evergreen, this April, the national charity is hosting a series of engaging events and activities at Evergreen Brick Works, their headquarters and a former industrial brick factory turned sustainable community hub. From markets and food to workshops and art installations, there’s something for everyone to experience as nature starts to bloom.

“We’re rolling out the green carpet to welcome community to Evergreen Brick Works this Earth Month,” said Jen Angel, CEO of Evergreen. “Our goal is to inspire action through fun, accessible programming that highlights the power of local environmental stewardship and community connection. Public spaces like Evergreen Brick Works are vital to this mission because they bring diverse people together to engage with nature and each other, and roll up their sleeves to contribute to building the healthy sustainable communities we need.”

Highlights of the month’s events include:

  • Sunday workshops and tours, from family nature walks to creating art from discarded materials
  • Art installations exploring invasive species and film screenings of Water is Love and Duffin’s Defenders
  • A litter clean-up of the Don Valley
  • An exciting pop-up experience with the Ontario Science Centre
  • Nature Play & Learning Labs, where participants immerse themselves in the fundamentals of outdoor learning and nature connection. (Earth Day, April 22)

Earth Month at Evergreen is not just about fun activities—it’s a reflection of the organization’s mission to transform public spaces into vibrant, nature-filled hubs that nourish communities, stimulate the local economy, and regenerate ecosystems.

As Sonya Reynolds, event organizer at Evergreen, stated, “Earth Month is an opportunity to engage people of all ages in creative and educational ways to protect the planet. Whether you’re making art from waste or learning about the local wetlands, there’s no better way to connect with our natural world.”
