Toronto, ON – (April 24, 2026) On Friday, MPP Jessica Bell met with the team at Evergreen to celebrate the successful delivery of a $200,000 Capital grant from the provincial government’s Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF). The grant, awarded in 2024, has supported infrastructure upgrades that have improved accessibility and safety at Evergreen’s TD Future Cities Centre, a key community hub located at Evergreen Brick Works.

“Evergreen’s leadership in creating inclusive public spaces is reflected in this important project,” said Jessica Bell, MPP for University-Rosedale. “With support from an Ontario Trillium Foundation Capital grant, improvements to the TD Future Cities Centre will enhance safety and accessibility for the community. We congratulate Evergreen on this achievement and commend the important work they continue to do.”

The improvements, which include installing steel guardrails, ramps, and other infrastructure, will make the 54,000-square-foot facility safer and more inclusive for visitors of all abilities. These upgrades will help strengthen community connections and ensure the space remains accessible for the thousands of people who participate in programs, events, and community activities each year. With the support of OTF grant, Evergreen has worked to enhance public spaces where people can come together to learn, collaborate, and build stronger, more resilient communities.

“We’re thrilled to make these important accessibility and safety improvements at the TD Future Cities Centre,” said Jen Angel, CEO of Evergreen. “Thanks to this support from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, our community hub will continue to serve as a welcoming, inclusive, and safe space where people from across the city can connect and create a better future for our urban environments.”
