    What is Evergreen's DEI committment?

At Evergreen, we are committed to creating a place of inclusion and belonging for employees, volunteers, partners and visitors of all backgrounds, ages, religions, races, genders, gender identities and expressions, physical abilities or sexual orientations; a place where one can be their whole self, and where that self feels celebrated. The principles of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) are critical to Evergreen’s success. Evergreen’s internal DEI Committee helps to advance our DEI priorities and ensures the organization is living up to its DEI commitment.

I want to work at Evergreen but there are no open positions. What can I do?

You can also register to become a volunteer at Evergreen. Evergreen has many volunteer roles, which can provide opportunities for leadership and skills development at Brick Works.

We value the skills, experience, enthusiasm and contributions volunteers bring. Through volunteering, you can take action and make your city better. Evergreen has a variety of volunteer roles throughout the year and do our best to ensure a good match where volunteers can have a real impact. Evergreen welcomes volunteers of different ages – those 14 and under need to volunteer with a parent or guardian in appropriate roles while some roles have age restrictions due to the nature of the role. To get started, create your volunteer profile.

Does Evergreen work outside of Toronto, Ontario?

As a virtual-first organization, our staff work in towns and cities across the country, not just at our headquarters in Toronto. Evergreen has broken ground on projects across Canada and we look forward to many more to come. We also host workshops across the country to support communities via our national programs (i.e., the Community Solutions Network and the Housing Supply Challenge Support Program).

    When was Evergreen established?

Since 1991, Evergreen has been transforming public spaces in our cities to build a healthier future for people and our planet. Evergreen Brick Works opened its doors in 2010 — a demonstration hub where the world can experience sustainable practices.
