About the Evergreen Conference

Insightful, energizing, connected, nourished. These are some of the words that participants used to describe our 2024 conference.

We set out to deliver a conference that would “fill your cup, not add to your plate” and as one attendee shared, “my cup runneth over”.

Our 2024 conference was an opportunity to learn and connect with people across sectors committed to building better public spaces for people and planet. It offered a mix of:

  • Expert talks, including inspiring words from Eric Klinenberg to Jay Pitter
  • Walking sessions where participants were led through the Brick Works to discover more about hidden rivers, Toronto’s ravines, birds and Black history and more
  • Hands-on workshops on Indigenous right relations, designing more accessible public spaces, financing public space projects and more.
  • A special PLAYcemaking Warehouse where participants took part in bite-sized placemaking activities that could be implemented in their own communities.
