Best of Wild Blueberry Festival
Come watch Toronto's top chefs, bakers and food artisans go head-to-head in a friendly battle to win the best Wild Blueberry dish and take home the coveted Best of Wild Blueberry Festival title. Competition will be judged by a panel of industry judges.
People’s Choice Award
Also up for grabs is the People’s Choice Award voted by you! Taste special Wild Blueberry dishes and vote for your favourite. You can pick up a ballot at the welcome cart or the welcome desk throughout the day.
All winners will be announced at 2:30pm!

Wild blueberries are the only berry native to North America. Wild low bush, cultivated low bush or cultivated high bush blueberries are all delicious and have great nutritional value. Taste, learn and decide which Blueberry you prefer.

Making blueberry jam is a smash—especially when it’s smash jam! Join us to help prepare a delicious snack of blueberry smash jam and fresh roasted bannock. Explore the garden with our team and learn more about how Wild Blueberries grow, and all the different ways we can use them.

Stop by the Alvéole booth to learn about bees, pollinators and how these critters are integral to our food system.
*Evergreen Brick Works is pleased to announce the return of bees and beekeeping to the site. The new hives are installed and maintained by Alvéole a company from Montreal that is passionate about beekeeping, education and community. Alvéole see honey production and beekeeping as a way to engage people in environmental issues and urban sustainability. They do so by supporting urban residents and organizations in installing and caring for urban honey bee colonies on rooftops, or backyards, and provide support for budding apiculturists.

10:15am-12:15pm | Musical Performance by Zeca Polina | Pavilions
Come enjoy the beautiful sounds of Zeca Polina (Tiago Marques) as he performs hits from his debut self-titled album. Zeca's music is steeped in the influences of the folky songwriters of Brazil, the realm of rock'n'roll, waltz, psychidelica, blues, and many other sonic places in his search for creative freedom and musical spontaneity.
Zeca has participated in diverse musical festivals in Brazil, as well as having performed in Mexico, England and the United States. In addition to his solo career, Zeca has been a member of the bands Porta Pantográfica, Paquiderme Escarlate, Susie Kill, Trio da Montanha e A Turma Toda, and most recently has joined forces with the Toronto based Os Tropies. He currently performs his original music under his own name with the help of Adam Hutchison on guitar, Carlie Howell on bass, Fraser McEvoy on drums, Patrick McGroarty on trumpet, and Ben Macdonald on saxophone.

Travel Castle Frank Station to Evergreen Brick Works while exploring the Lower Don Watershed and search for signs of wildlife on this easy family-friendly hike.
Walk meets at 11:00am sharp at the East end of Castle Frank Subway Station
Walks are all ages. Walking terrain include: streets, mild slopes, woodland paths, and stairs. Paths, trails, and streets may be rough, muddy, or wet. Conditions may not be suitable for wheelchairs, assistive devices, strollers, or very young children on foot.

Join dance artists Janez Jones and Matthew Cuff from Vibe Arts for spectacular experimental dance performances. From hip hop to vogueing, these two will be taking out all the stops!
Janez Jones: A recent high school graduate, currently an emerging hiphop/reggae dancer and choreographer.
Matthew Cuff: A multidisciplinary dancer and choreographer with over 10 years of experience, specializes in Vogueing.

Executive Chef - Ricky Casipe from Hawthorne Restaurant is going Wild with Wild blueberries. Join him at the main stage to learn about and taste her delicious creations.

Come listen to the tunes of Canadian singer-songwriter Jerry Leger.
Since 2005, he has released seven acclaimed albums and toured Canada and the United States, playing shows with Ron Sexsmith, The Sadies, Jesse Winchester, Fred Eaglesmith, Danny Michel, Jill Barber, Justin Townes Earle, Deer Tick, Skydiggers, Jim Lauderdale, Dawes, Tift Merritt, Doug Paisley, among others.
