Evergreen Hamilton Community Storefront
A dynamic community hub that provided opportunities for civic engagement and action.
In August 2015, Evergreen launched the Hamilton Community Storefront Hub at 294 James St North. The idea for the hub was identified during the development of the West Harbour Community Engagement Strategy led by Evergreen in partnership with the City of Hamilton and the Hamilton Community Foundation.
Together with hundreds of community groups and associations, local artists and change agents, we collectively transformed a vacant storefront on James Street North into a dynamic community hub that responded to local needs by providing opportunities for civic engagement and action.
Over time, the purpose of the storefront evolved to connect, enhance and support sustainable and inclusive city-building in and around the City of Hamilton.
Get Involved
The Community Storefront was available to groups and organizations to host meetings, events, workshops, exhibits, and other activities that help overcome systemic challenges facing cities, pursue city-building opportunities, and contribute to community connectedness.
