Volunteer Opportunities

You can choose to support Evergreen in a variety of volunteer roles, depending on your interests and availability. Here are the general types of opportunities:

Community Greening Volunteers

Help at one or more Greening Events for fun hands-on planting of native species, removing invasive species, monitoring projects and more. Visit the National What's On listings to find events near you and sign up. Tools and training are provided on-site. Everyone is welcome!

Ongoing Volunteer Roles

Volunteers commit to supporting one or many of our exciting programs, initiatives and events. The latest roles can be seen below where you can learn more about what to expect, location, time commitment and how to apply. Be sure to submit a completed Volunteer Application.

Skills-Based Roles

From time to time we seek volunteers with specific professional or technical skills and expertise, to enable our work and to help us grow and. Explore our Current Volunteer Opportunities below to see what we’re looking for right now.

Group Opportunities

If you want to volunteer with a smaller group (under 10 people), check out the greening events in the What's On listings and find out if there is space for your group. Private corporate groups can learn more about arranging a paid Employee Engagement Event by contacting us at stewardship@evergreen.ca.

Current Volunteer Opportunities

Check out these listings below for our current volunteer needs and opportunities to find out how you can help grow green cities.

Evergreen welcomes volunteers of all ages. Those 14 and under need to volunteer with a parent or guardian (family volunteering) in appropriate roles while some roles have age restrictions due to the nature of the role (see individual description).


Evergreen encourages diversity among our volunteers, and recruits prospective volunteers from a broad range of abilities and backgrounds.
