Some great Ontario chefs will be cooking up a bounty of local, sustainable fare that celebrates the delectable tastes of fall at Evergreen's Feast On BBQ in October. Find out who they are!
Our BBQ is back! Join us on Oct.14 in the historic kilns building at Evergreen Brick Works for one of the best fundraisers of the year. We’re bringing the best of cottage life to the city for one night only, and that includes lots of delicious food!
Feast On-certified chefs will be whipping up dishes chock-full of seasonal, local ingredients.
So who are the talented chefs that will be cooking up a storm in October?
Olivia Simpson: Hawthorne Food and Drink
After working at top U.S. restaurants Blue Hill at Stone Barns and Mission Chinese Food, chef Olivia Simpson was inspired to bring her learnings cooking with seasonal food back to Ontario and now to our annual BBQ.
Raul Sojo: Bistro ‘67
Most recently working as the chef de cuisine at the Oshawa Golf Club and executive chef and owner of RSVP Chef and Catering Services, Chef Raul Sojo is bringing his fresh, inspiring menu to our BBQ and we can’t wait.
Steffen Marin and Ami Dipasquale: Heirloom Food Truck
A staple food truck at our markets here at Evergreen Brick Works, chefs Steffen Marin and Ami Dipasquale will be joining us in October. Their local dish will be a delight to many!
Adam Ryan: Localista
Also a certified Sommelier, Adam will be bringing his worldwide experience to our BBQ. He honed his culinary skills in many high-profile restaurants throughout North America and Italy.
Arron Carley: The Bruce Hotel
Chef Arron Carley has worked in some of the best restaurants in Toronto and the world, even spending time as an intern at Noma in Copenhagen, which has held the No. 1 restaurant spot in the world four times.
Jesse Vallins: Maple Leaf Tavern
Scarborough native Jesse Vallins has spent the last two decades cooking at some of Toronto’s best restaurants, now also teaching at George Brown College. He’ll be joined by Samantha Joyce at Evergreen’s Feast On BBQ.
Elisa Corrigan: The Green Wood
An Ontario native, Chef Elisa Corrigan’s menu at The Green Wood in Toronto is entirely made-from-scratch and Ontario-local. Her fresh perspective on urban eating not only comes from her country roots, but also her deep and varied experience in the kitchens of Toronto.
Tim Borys: Lancaster Smokehouse
Chef Tim Borys is a perfect match for Evergreen’s Feast On BBQ, with his expert experience learning the craft of southern cookery and BBQ. His menu at Kitchener’s Lancaster Smokehouse is heavily influenced by his trips to Louisiana and Texas.
Laird MacArthur: Café Belong
Before leading the catering and production kitchen team for Belong Catering here at Evergreen Brick Works, chef Laird MacArthur spent time working in the kitchens of chef Mark McEwan and in the south of France. His love of southern Ontario products will be on full display in October.
