Luke Howie

Sr. Program Manager

Luke Howie is Sr. Manager, Operations and Programs at the Evergreen Brick Works campus. He is responsible for Facilites and Green Infrastructure programs. Over his 8+ years at the Brick Works his portfolio has spanned Education, Active Living and Urban Ecology programming. As his role bridges operations and programs, he strives to make spaces work for staff, visitors and the natural environment. In particular, he leverages his background in placemaking at Evergreen to support Children's Programs through a nature play spaces design and advisory lens.

He has been involved in place-based learning since his teens and is a lifelong learner and educator.- He has an undergrad from UofT and a BEd from Trent University. He also holds an Outdoor Experiential Education Additional Qualification from Lakehead University and is presently completing his Forest and Nature School Practitioner Certification with the Child and Nature Alliance of Canada. He lives and works in the Lower Don watershed with his family.
