Alan Dean is president and executive director of Brookfield Partners Foundation, the charitable arm of Brookfield, an international asset management company based in Toronto. Alan retired from Brookfield in 2008 after 20 years in communications, governance and shareholder relations. Before this, he worked in business planning for Cadillac Fairview, a leading North American real estate developer, and as an urban planner for the City of Toronto. Alan’s board experience includes acting as a director of Brookfield Investments Corporation, trade committee chair for the Canadian Council for International Business, vice-chair of the Canadian Council for the Americas and chair of the Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce. He is also on the Woodsworth College Campaign Cabinet at the University of Toronto. Alan has degrees from the University of Toronto in Architecture, Geography and Business.
