Evergreen’s Feast On BBQ features Toronto’s best local food and drink

Annual fundraiser presents the perfect recipe for an in-the-city cottage getaway – Saturday, October 14, 2017

TORONTO, ONTARIO (October 2, 2017) – Evergreen waves a final farewell to cottage season by hosting an unforgettable evening fuelled by some of the city’s greatest local and sustainable fare, tasty drinks and epic outdoor fun at its third-annual fundraiser in support of its nation-wide work in building flourishing cities. Evergreen's Feast On BBQ, presented by Muskoka Brewery, delivers the best of the cottage - Toronto-style - to Evergreen Brick Works for one night only on Saturday, October 14, 2017

 

This is not your common cottage cook out. Evergreen, in partnership with the Culinary Tourism Alliance, leaders of Ontario’s local food movement, bring together ten renowned Feast On-certified chefs to serve up delicious BBQ dishes made from locally-sourced ingredients perfectly paired with signature cocktails, wine and Muskoka Brewery craft beer. 

 

Get ready to feast on this – here is a small sampling of the all-you-can-eat-and-drink spread: 

  • Chef Arron Carley from Stratford’s The Bruce Hotel presents spit-roasted lamb glazed with birch BBQ sauce on grilled bannock bread, served with Brick Works Cider slaw, roasted squash chow chow and a birch and black walnut danish. Its match: Muskoka Brewery’s Harvest Ale made from all-Ontario ingredients
  • Chef Olivia Simpson of Hawthorne Food and Drink warms up the eve with a Hungarian Székely Goulash with caraway sauerkraut and a beet borcht – enjoy with a Muskoka Brewery’s Shinnicked Stout
  • Chef Steffen Marin of Heirloom Food to Truck creates smoked chicken or tofu lollipops with homemade peanut satay sauce, toasted sesame seeds, ginger aioli and fresh Ontario herbs – raise a glass of Muskoka Brewery’s Cream Ale
