Heritage Varieties of Spring Crops
Planting Heritage Varieties of Vegetables and Berries
Brought to you by HGTV
For many gardeners planting bulbs is associated with autumn. Certainly, a wide variety of bulbs are planted at this time, tulips and daffodils being the two most commonly known. But there are a variety of bulbs for plants with exotic looks that can be planted in the spring to bloom in July and August. They provide a jolt of fresh colour just at a time when the garden needs it most. These bulbs aren't winter hardy, so in the fall they must be lifted and stored over winter, to be planted again when spring arrives.
