Connecting people with nature in our cities.
Creating and conserving urban greenspace is vital to our health and the health of our cities. It provides habitat for animals and insects, cleans our air, filters rainwater, creates shade cover and provides space for communities to live, play and connect in.
Evergreen works closely with organizations and you to restore greenspace in neighbourhoods across the country—from shoreline clean-ups in Corner Brook, NL, to green roofs in the heart of Vancouver.
How we do it.
In Your Community
Evergreen is actively engaged with community organizations and groups, corporations and municipalities to restore urban greenspace—through planting and stewardship events, workshops and team-building activities and citizen science initiatives to study the human impact on our watersheds and local wildlife.
Support Across Canada
Grant programs contribute thousands of dollars every year to community greening projects across Canada. These funds help to support the work of dedicated, non-profit community groups who are getting their hands dirty—from community food gardens and orchards to protecting native and endangered species to increasing the urban canopy.
