Calling all foodies, outdoor adventurers and eco-citizens!

Evergreen is proud to take part in the fourth annual Green Living Show happening April 23–25, 2010 at the Direct Energy Centre, Exhibition Place, in Toronto. The Green Living Show is Toronto’s largest green consumer show dedicated to educating the public about easy and workable solutions for leading a more sustainable lifestyle. 

The show celebrates simple and practical environmental solutions, the latest and hottest green products and technology, and the financial benefits of going green. Visitors can browse the wide variety of exhibitor booths while gathering information and inspiration from a diverse selection of demonstrations, presentations and activities.

Evergreen will be active at the Green Living Show three ways:

1. Booth # 1006 - Come and visit us, where friendly and knowledgeable staff will share with you simple ways to add nature to your lifestyle – be it through gardening, commuting, eating and/or volunteering - and tell you of all the exciting events and activities you can expect to enjoy at Evergreen Brick Works this year.
2. Farm Fresh Fare - Savour the healthy pleasure of Farm Fresh Fare, presented by Toyota Canada Inc., a popular feature that pairs local farmers and producers with Toronto chefs. An accessible array of sustainable, local food will satisfy mindful vegetarians, omnivores and carnivores. Hosted by Evergreen and Slow Food Toronto, funds generated will support Evergreen and Slow Food’s charitable mandates of connecting people with nature and providing access to good, clean and fair food.
   
   Proceeds will help create food garden programs at schools across the Greater Toronto Area that give students direct access to nature on their grounds. School gardens provide hands-on learning opportunities that connect children with nature and instill an appreciation of where our food comes from, and awaken environmental awareness through the experience of tasting the food they have grown in collaboration with nature.
   
   Tasting tickets can be purchased for $2.00 each at the Farm Fresh Fare.
3. Workshops in the Urban Forest Booth to focus on small scale gardening, pollinators and how nature brings communities together.   

Evergreen Nominated as a Leader in their Field

Evergreen is a finalist for the Green Toronto Leadership Award which will be announced during the Green Living Show the evening of Friday April 23.

The Leadership Award rewards an individual or company's effort that goes above and beyond the norm. The winner will have a track record of excellence in their contribution to the state of the city's environment. We are honoured and humbled to share this nomination with Toronto’s green leaders: Partners in Project Green of the Greater Toronto Airports Authority and the Toronto Environmental Alliance.
