The children assemble outside with bags, gloves and trowels in hand. A short explanation of how to dig up the weed (roots and all) and an explanation the process of counting (tally) is given. Then we are off!

This can be used at any grade level from primary to junior. One year, it became a school challenge. The most successful class was rewarded with a pizza party.
