The Home Depot Canada Foundation and Evergreen are pleased to offer the Rebuilding Nature Grant Program to support environmental stewardship projects in communities across Canada.
Amount offered: $1,000, $3,000 or $12,000, up to 50% of project costs, plus a $2,000 The Home Depot Gift Card
The submission deadline for 2010 has now passed.
Eligibility
- Available to Canadian community groups whose project site is located in a community where The Home Depot has a retail presence.
- Projects must be located on publicly accessible lands.
- Eligible groups must be working with at least one institutional partner in the planning, design and implementation of their projects.
- Previous grant recipients are welcome to apply again. There is no preference given to previously granted organizations and all applications will go through the same review process.
- Funded projects must be underway by October 31, 2010.

Eligible Expenses
Eligible expenses include:
- Tools, construction and gardening supplies
- Native plant material (plants, trees, shrubs, wildflowers)
- Wages, salaries, honoraria and professional consulting services
- Volunteer expenses
- Health and safety supplies
- Transportation

Grant Recipient Responsibilities
If your project is selected, you will be asked to:
- Obtain all necessary permits and approvals
- Submit photos, news clippings, receipts and a final report to Evergreen
- Agree to participate, if requested, in the promotion of your project locally and/or nationally (e.g. press release or press event)
- Discuss opportunities for involving Team Depot associates in your project with your local The Home Depot store
