This June, Evergreen Brick Works will host Design By Nature, a juried exhibition of site-specific functional furniture and sculptural artwork. Sponsored by our Partner in Sustainability Teknion, and organized by a group of design enthusiasts, the aim of the exhibition is to share the fun of good design while promoting innovative public art that reflects Evergreen’s sustainability mandate.

“Evergreen is very excited to host this fantastic new initiative that brings Teknion together with innovators from across the design community,” said Geoff Cape, Evergreen’s co-founder and executive director. “As Evergreen Brick Works continues to evolve, it is programs like Design by Nature that will go far towards ensuring new ideas, energy and talent continue to permeate the site.”

Designers, furniture makers, artisans and installation artists are invited to submit their proposals from now until May 11. Be creative—make use of existing, reclaimed or recycled materials!

Works by our four finalists will be featured throughout the site in late June and will be on display until the end of October.
